What We Do
Raw Mentoring is a specialist mentoring provision working 1-1 with young people who are struggling to access, engage with, or remain in mainstream education.
We use sport, play, and music to build trust — then combine mentoring and coaching techniques to develop emotional regulation, self-awareness, and lasting behavioural change.
Our approach is structured, evidence-informed, and safeguarding compliant. We specialise in supporting young people with ASD, ADD/ADHD, EBSA, mental health challenges, and those at risk of, or recovering from, school exclusion.
Raw Mentoring works with some of the most vulnerable young people in our communities — those who face barriers to learning rooted in social, emotional, and mental health challenges, and for whom the right relationship at the right time can be the thing that changes everything.
We are not a classroom. We are not a therapy service. We are a structured, trust-based mentoring provision that uses sport, play, and music to open the door — and evidence-informed coaching to walk young people through it.

ENGAGE
Sport, play and music build the trust and engagement that makes everything else possible. We meet the young person in their world first.
REGULATE
We use the activity to surface emotion, then give the young person evidence-based tools to understand and manage it in real time.
TRANSFER
We use the activity to surface emotion, then give the young person evidence-based tools to understand and manage it in real time. Coaching conversations connect the session to the classroom, home, and social life. The skill must travel.
SG COMPLAINT
Every mentor is DBS checked, trained to specialist level, and supervised. Safeguarding is non-negotiable in everything we do.
